22 Aug Hot Hot MEGA HOT!

Okay wifi can't reach my room and it's the room is super stuffy. Jeez. Paid 30 euros for this. Booked a 4 dorm private ensuite and it seems that cinque terre holidays has a random way of allocating rooms. It's more like first come first serve basis in terms of room allocation. Got a 6 person flat. Luckily got a cute French chick as our flat mate.

The journey to riomaggiore started with a transit at Pisa with a 2 hour stop to visit the leaning tower which wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. Arriving at la spezia, a 2 euro ticket is needed to bring us to any of the 5 towns.

Cinque terre is wow... just wow.... It is a very picturistic area with each town being different from the other. It looks similar to portofino but is not as atas as it. Super duper hot! We had to hike like 10mins with our heavy packs to our hotel and it was upslope omg.  When we finally reached the place, we were sweating like dogs. You know you've arrived at a summer chill out location when you see bikini clad babes and topless hunks walking around town.

Seafood is the food to look out here. Cheap deals can be found at every other corner. Do look out for Il Pescato Cucinato (199 Via Colombo) for their fried seafood fritters. For 7 Euros it gives a generous portion in a cone papercup. You can also look out for cheap takeaways down the road (we ate at Meranda). Now that is another foodsex! We got grilled chicken and chicken cutlet with fries/onion rings for only $5 Euros! If you're looking for parties, it seems that there's one every night at the Bar dell'Amore, the path leading from Riomaggiore to Manarola.

All 5 towns are connected by coastal route and highland route, but you have to get a park pass. A 2 day pass will cost you 8 Euros and the one with the train pass will set you back 18 Euros. Will not suggest staying at Cinque Terre Holidays because the rooms are hot and stuffy.

It gets really hot here in the summer so why not cool off in the clear waters down the cliffs which are accessable via stairs. With the temperature at 32 degrees and the water at about 23-24 it just feels awesome to be inside. Do becareful of the sharp barnacles though.

Tmr we'll be heading down to Monterroso and walking back.

Will upload the video logs soon

Note:
How free seating train tickets work is that you buy it off the machine and punch it at the small TrenItalia punching machines on the wall columns at the platform. Go early if you want space for your luggage or if want to sit together.

Interesting drawing. Cinque Terre one of the top destinations for couples and such drawings can be found embedded on rocks everywhere
